How is chiropractic care covered under the KVG/LAMal?

Chiropractors treat functional disorders and pain in the musculoskeletal system, such as the spine, pelvis and joints. He also helps to reduce tension and pain through natural medicines.

Chiropractic medicine is covered by basic health insurance (LAMal). The insured person therefore has the option of consulting a chiropractor, without an initial consultation with another doctor, in order to benefit from basic insurance coverage.

Note that in the case of basic insurance models family doctor, health network or telemedicine, the patient must first consult a doctor the telemedicine platform in order to benefit from reimbursement.

Chiropractic medicine services are also recognized by accident, military or disability insurance.
